Latest generation of manhole base production

February 11, 2025

Since 2008, the Primuss has been used successfully by numerous customers worldwide. Since then, it has been characterised by a patented process for the ecological production of monolithic manhole bases with variable channels. The manhole bases can be produced either by casting or using an immediate demoulding process (e.g. with the Tornado), also known as wetcast and drycast.

The increasing demand in the market for larger diameters and reinforced manhole bases led to the targeted further development of the Primuss, the Primuss 2.0. The optimised operator software makes handling the machine even more convenient and ensures very high production efficiency.

particular highlight of the new Primuss 2.0 is the simultaneous processing of nominal widths of up to 1,500 mm on up to two stations. Two industrial robots are used for this. This not only reduces the processing time, but also enables simultaneous processing of channels and connections.

The existing advantages of the Primuss have been optimised throughout the further development process:

  • Program-controlled production of any hydraulically optimised channel layout and the associated inlets and outlets for each pipe connection.
  • Reduced preparation time due to the elimination of formwork elements for channels and connections as well as the automatic production of the lower section.
  • Low operating costs, as no additional material is required to create the channels and connections. The energy costs and tool costs are also lower than in conventional production due to the milling of fresh concrete.
  • The milled material can be reused and does not have to be disposed of at great expense.
  • Reduced personnel costs through one-man operation.

The Primuss 2.0 can be customised with numerous expansion options, including automatic tool changers for different milling tools, an automatic milling material conveyor to reduce the amount of cleaning required, laser-assisted positioning of the manhole base and reliable positioning of reinforcement cages.

A data analyser and the associated reporting provide all relevant production data and statistics to help you use your machine economically. All machines are supplied with SmartParts, which makes ordering spare parts child’s play. Prinzing Pfeiffer GmbH offers SmartCheck for planning and scheduling service visits.
